Unwelcomed (Ivy Tech Lafayette)
The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI), in partnership with the YWCA Greater Lafayette and the Racial Reconciliation of Greater Lafayette, is hosting Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination, an interactive exhibit, at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana-Lafayette from April 18-30, 2025. The exhibit will educate participants on the systemic barriers that have impacted today’s neighborhoods through redlining, racial covenants, steering, neighborhood intimidation, and other forms of housing discrimination. Modern-day forms of housing discrimination in sales and lending will also be highlighted. We are incredibly grateful to these organizations for agreeing to host this important exhibit for the rest of April to celebrate #FairHousingMonth!
You may visit during normal operating hours. This exhibit features 12 panels on the history of lending and housing sales discrimination in Indianapolis AND a #bonus 6 panels featuring Tippecanoe-specific content as well. Be sure to stop by Ivy Hall during their normal hours of operation to check it out – now through April 30, 2025.
The exhibit is funded through support by First Merchants Bank. For the additional references noted on the exhibit panel or to view a digital version of the exhibit, click here.
