Unwelcomed Exhibit (Murphy Building)
The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI), in partnership with Blackline Studio in Indianapolis, is hosting Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination, an interactive exhibit, from November 7-December 30, 2022. The exhibit will educate participants on the systemic barriers that have impacted today’s neighborhoods through redlining, racial covenants, steering, neighborhood intimidation, and other forms of housing discrimination. Modern-day forms of housing discrimination in sales and lending will also be highlighted.
The exhibit is located on the second floor of the Murphy Building. It may be viewed during its normal operating hours, but it is recommended that you call ahead (317-803-7900) to schedule your time. Or, consider attending the First Friday event on December 2.
The exhibit is funded through support by First Merchants Bank. For the additional references noted on the exhibit panel, click here.
