Unwelcomed (Unitarian)
The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI), in partnership with the Unitarian Universalist Church – Tippecanoe County, is hosting Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination, an interactive exhibit, from September 3-October 3, 2025. The exhibit will educate participants on the systemic barriers that have impacted today’s neighborhoods through redlining, racial covenants, steering, neighborhood intimidation, and other forms of housing discrimination. Modern-day forms of housing discrimination in sales and lending will also be highlighted.
The exhibit highlights the history of sales and lending discrimination that led to the segregation of Indianapolis neighborhoods, but this installation includes BONUS content that is Tippecanoe County-specific thanks to a special collaboration with the Racial Reconciliation of Greater Lafayette.
You can visit the exhibit during a special public viewing times:
📆 September 10 ⏰ 2:00-4:00 PM
📆 September 17 ⏰ 7:00-9:00 PM
📆 September 27 ⏰ 1:00-3:00 PM
Also, there’s going to be a special presentation by the FHCCI on Sunday, September 21, 2025, 9:00-10:00 AM.
